Volunteers are trained for the position in which they serve. For more information about any of these positions or to get involved please contact us. Assistance is most urgently needed in the following areas:
Volunteers are needed to drive regular routes around the city of Toledo to meet women who may be in need of the services provided by Rahab’s Heart. This is often our first encounter with the women, and it is all about meeting them where they are and building relationships. Each woman will know she is unconditionally loved regardless of her current choices and that there are other options for their future. We offer safety care and snack kits as a means of beginning the conversation. Volunteers work in teams and drive in shifts of two hours. All woman met on the streets are invited to a dinner at the drop-in center. A variety of shifts are available at different times and days throughout the week.
Friday Night Dinners
Dinners are hosted twice a month at the drop-in center. Volunteers are needed to plan and prepare each meal for about 20-30 people. Volunteers are also needed to assist with art therapy programming that is offered at our Friday night dinners.
Volunteers are needed at the drop-in center in North Toledo. Regular duties include cleaning, food management, sorting donations, putting out garbage bins and assembling safety kits. Other duties may include occasional house and yard maintenance. Volunteers also assist women who visit the house, distributing food, clothing and hygiene items, as available.
